oh happy day!

I’ve gotten word that I should post again to affirm I’m alive and well.
**cough cough** Doug Murray** cough **

And it’s true!
Today I got to Skype with Cannon and Tori!
Then picked up 4 packages!!! Thanks Grandma, Tami, Dad and the Umpleby crew!! Made me sooooo happy. Can’t wait to eat American Pringles and candy, read trashy gossip, decorate my room with hand drawn photos and calendars of home despite the fact it isn’t 2011 yet. I’m still baffled by my grandma’s ESP to know that the random item I have been craving most is Fruitloops, and they were in the surprise package!!!

I’ve also decided since I just bought a modem to have internet in my little rural site, that I will post more pictures. And have also decided I will take more pictures to post, this will be the equivalent of you, at home, walking around Safeway with a camera a looking like a total fool. But hey the last part of that statement comes naturally anyways.

I’d like to inform Anna Banana that dogs do still chase me, just the other day…. i was walking down the street observing a house with about 500 TV antennas on top (still not sure why anyone needs that many) and this small dog came running around the corner so fast. Luckily, I think he scared me as much as I scared him so it was all okay in the end. And to Grandma, if you didn’t already know I have been given rabies shots upon arrival. DONT WORRY

In addition to these big life choices I’ve made as of late. I have decided to read more blogs that I read back home like smittenkitchen or colormekatie or ffffound. Because they make me happy. Consequently I may miss home more but I will be able to at least look at pretty things once in a while. You may see more of those findings on here. Sorry if they seem irrelevant to life in Cambodia.

Like items like this, may appear from time to time on my blog (thanks to colormekatie.blogspot.com)

So this was just a quick hello. I can’t think of any great stories to relay but the weather has turned in case you have been worrying about my ability to ride a bike in a poncho (and helmet) in a down pour on a dirt road, or the new level of sweaty I have reached here…It has actually been semi cold. I have been wearing jeans and had goose-bumps for the first time ever here, just yesterday.

As usual, take it easy. Miss and love you all.

About followingdreams

I have recently graduated from UCSD with a bachelor of arts in International Studies: History and Political Science. I embarked on a 27 month journey (a.k.a. 2 years and 3 months, a.k.a. 2 missed Chirstmas' and Thanksgivings, a.k.a. missing nephew's first and second birthday...) with Peace Corps to teach English in Cambodia, or at least that is what I have been told. And struggled through 6 months of life in rural Cambodia, Peace Corps, life across the globe. This blog captured a snapshot of that adventure in a way that hopefully enticed you to laugh at the trials! Please email me updates on your life and questions you may have as well, inquires about catering gigs. I would love to hear where life has taken you, because the road I have traveled has been quite the unexpected one. And would love to journey along side you in this crazy thing we called life.
