to the hodge podge below…

I decided it was time i put in some effort and uploaded some photos for you all…

the blue door was at a pagoda, and my aunts favorite photo i’ve taken yet. so i posted it. my real aunt. in america.

the double action shot. not intended to be there twice. thank you sketchy internet. but this was a crazy cambodian experience. it was a 9 year olds and 12-year-old birthday party. everyone sang happy birthday while the birthday girls sompeh’ed looking down at the western cakes. then small children were handed sparklers. the old metal kind. then after singing stopped, my sister and the older women busted out this fake snow. yes this fake snow showered everyone and the cake that they proceeded to cut up. and the covered outside area was filled with the fumes of aerosol. awesome

yellow pagoda. i spent one of the pchum pen festivities at. the one where i sat on a bench for 3 hrs having no clue what was going on. and everyone refusing to talk to me. on my 3rd day.

landscape. some where in the distance is where i reside. It was the view from the pagoda in the previous picture.

Brenda and me on the bamboo train.

About followingdreams

I have recently graduated from UCSD with a bachelor of arts in International Studies: History and Political Science. I embarked on a 27 month journey (a.k.a. 2 years and 3 months, a.k.a. 2 missed Chirstmas' and Thanksgivings, a.k.a. missing nephew's first and second birthday...) with Peace Corps to teach English in Cambodia, or at least that is what I have been told. And struggled through 6 months of life in rural Cambodia, Peace Corps, life across the globe. This blog captured a snapshot of that adventure in a way that hopefully enticed you to laugh at the trials! Please email me updates on your life and questions you may have as well, inquires about catering gigs. I would love to hear where life has taken you, because the road I have traveled has been quite the unexpected one. And would love to journey along side you in this crazy thing we called life.
